1 Operating System Updates for CPU 319-3 PN/DP[edit | edit source]
- You can perform the update via Micro Memory Card how to descrition from Siemens or online:
- here we describe the online procedure only
2 *Have in mind that all DB's will be initialized with that procedure, so all parameter and settings for the machine have to be loaded again!
[edit | edit source]
*to keep the parameter and settings as it is, the easiest way is to upload and save the link DB's as described here upload link DB's
Online: Requirements:
- On-line updating of the firmware is possible with STEP 7 V5.3 and higher.
- The module to be updated must be located in a station that can be reached on-line.
- An MMC must be inserted in the module
- New firmware version must be available on the file system of your programming device (PG or PC).
To update the operating system:
1. Start STEP 7 and switch to HW-Config.
2. Open the station with the CPU to be updated.
3. Select CPU.
4. Go to PLC and choose @ the menu PLC option > Update Firmware.
5. In the opened menu "UpdateFirmware " use the "Browse" button to select the path to the firmware update files (*.UPD).
6. When you have selected the *.UPD file, click the "Run" button.
7. If the operating mode of the CPU has to be changed for this purpose you will be asked to perform this action. The CPU will then perform the firmware update on its own.
8. Check with STEP 7 (read CPU diagnostic buffer) whether the CPU successfully starts up with the new firmware.
After the system memory of the CPU has been reset, the following values will be retained:
- the parameters of the MPI interface (MPI address and highest MPI address)
- the IP address of the CPU
- the sub-network mask
- the static SNMP parameters
