The single-fault-safe electronics module has two channels (redundant). Each
channel triggers a force guided relay. The relays self-test by contact return
after each switching cycle. The electronics monitor the electrical resistance
of the connected sensors which have a specific closed-circuit current.

2.1 Measure the resistance[edit | edit source]
Disconnect the wires at the Terminal Y1 and Y2 of the SG-EFS device and connect your Ohm Meter to these cables. The Safety Mat is terminated with a 1.2 kΩ resistor. You should be able to measure at these wires a resistance of 1.2 kΩ +-15% also check for ground faults. If the resistance is okay, reconnect the wires. Check that there is no jumper installed at the Terminal 7 and 8 of the device. According to the BRUECKNER Safety Standard, the Auto Reset Function is not allowed to use.
2.2 Function check[edit | edit source]
Step on the Safety Mat (one by one!) and check that both LEDs K1 and K2 are not on. By pressing the assigned Reset Pushbutton (Check the drawings which one it is) the LEDs must be on again. Repeat this for each Mat segment.
