1 Description[edit | edit source]

The TP3-4141 is used as safety switch for MDO gates and covers.

2 Electrical Connection[edit | edit source]

It has two pairs of contacts that open if the door is electrically unlocked and mechanically open. Therefore we can use it with redundancy to reach the required performance level.

The contacts to use are 11/12 and 31/32.

The other contact pair 21/22 and 41/42 can not be used, because they are already open when the gate is electrically unlocked.

Here is a example of a correct drawing:

3 Old Version TP3-4121[edit | edit source]

On older lines and still delivered on some new lines you will find the old type TP34121.

It looks quite similiar, but we can not use the redundant safety function, because it has only one contact that has the required function!

If not, the 1oo2-evaluation must be changed to 1oo1-evaluation.

The contact to be used is 31/32.

Changing to non-redundancy also requires further changes in the software (ProjectManager=redundant inputs to be changed to spare, hardwareconfig = 1002 to 1001 evaluation).

If you have a wrong drawing like this, send it back to your EEP-project manager. As you see, this drawing uses an old type (4121) with wrong contacts in redundant function.

Also make sure that all signals are coming correctly to PVSS. This is especially needed in the MDO for all jogging modes. Here the detection which gates are open or closed is very important.
