The safety switch CES-AP… has two redundant safety outputs. These outputs are connected directly to the SIEMENS PROFISAFE Modules. The switch monitors itself for short circuits using pulsed signals.

The Parameters of the PROFISAFE Digital Input Module have to set like this:

- Short-circuit test = lock
- Sensor Supply = internal
- Evaluation of the sensors = 1oo2 evaluation
For redundant Inputs at the PROFISAFE Digital Input Module, you can use only channel pairs!
For example Inputs x.0 and x.4; x.1 and x.5; x.2 and x.6; x.3 and x.7;
Remark for I/O Check: To monitor a redundant Safety Input in the SIMATIC Manager use only the first of the address pair (e.g. x.0 - you won't see anything on x.4) Address
3 Synchronization[edit | edit source]
After successful connection and parameterization the sensor need to be synchronized. First you have to adjust the sensor modules so that the receiver and the transmitter are lined up with gap of 5-7 mm between them. Switch the supply voltage off and on.
