Parker PWDxxA-400

Controller module for proportional hydraulic valves as used in some ChainTension-Units. Accessible via RS232 serial Interface.

1 Hardware Connection

For adjustment of the parameters, you need the Parker ProPxd Software for communication.

1. Connect the Amplifier + com port of your notebook with RS 232 null modem communication cable.
2. Now open the ProPxd software.
3. The Amplifier is now connected.
4. Open the default file StrTdoInlChnTen.pxd from Brueckner. Found in Template:PathUncPublichydraulic\Parker.
5. Check the pressure Range of the sensor (Backside), enter the P20 value acoordingly

   if sensor is 250 Bar, but operating range is 100 Bar, Then P20 is 40% (100 bar / 250 bar = 40%)

   e.g. sensor is 100 Bar and operating range is 100 Bar, so P20 is 100%

6. Now check if E12 = 1 (cable break detection).
7. ‘Send All’ the parameters to the amplifier.
8. Now the LED on amplifier should be GREEN.

   if not see LED Troubleshooting below.

2.1 Tuning of the closed loop control

1. Check P17 = 0.0
2. Check P18 = 0.0
3. Check P13 = 40.0
4. Check P16 = 20.0
5. 'Send parameters' to amplifier.

6. Open 'Help' 'Diagnostics' an look at the 'command signal' the 'feedback signal' should be almost equal .

   if there is no command signal available or you want to test something open 'activate command signal generator'(see picture1 red frame)

7. Two sliders to test different values but only one is aktiv 'toggel' switches between this, with 'refresh' the value gets updated
8. To test the controller set a value and look at the 'feedback signal', it has to be almost equal to the 'command signal'
9. On the left side of the 'Diagnostic' window is a 'Start'(see picture1 green frame) button to start a trace of the signals.

   Toggle between to values an look at the graph there should be no gap between command and feedback signal.

10. If feedback is lower than the command signal close diagnostics + increase P16 repeate this procedure until the feedback is almost oscillating
11. Reduce value of P16 that no oscillation is visible.
12. if there is still a gap between the feedback and the command signal increas P13 to reduce the gap
13. Check if the controller is working with different command signals an with the analog signal from the plc.
14. Save the complete parameter list in Template:PathUncPublicsensors\Parker.

2.2 Check of the completet unit

1. Remove the plug of the preasure sensor -> In PVSS it shows Sensorfault
2. Check the 2th pressure sensor (with display)

3 Troubleshooting

3.1 LED indication =

(there are 2 Leds inside the Status Lamp)

LED	Description
GREEN	Ready
OFF	No Power
RED AND GREEN (YELLOW)	No Release (Check Terminal 3 = 24V, 13 = 0V)
RED	Pressure Sensor Fault (Wire Break)
RED	Setpoint Signal Fault (Check connection and bridges at ET200)
RED	Internal CPU fault
OFF	No Power
OFF	No Power

3.2 Hydraulic Pressure

• Oil filled up
• Check Rotation of the Hydraulic Pump
• Systempressure (Manometer) should be 110 bar (preadjusted by supplier)
• If pressure < 10 bar, check if amplifier is released (LED, or Terminal 3 = 24V)
