Sirius 3TK Standstill Monitoring

1 Description

The Siemens Sirius 3TK2810-0BA02 is used for standstill monitoring at grinder motors. It measures a voltage of the coasting motor induced by remanent magnetization at three terminals of the stator winding. If the induction voltage approaches zero, this means motor standstill for the device and the output relay is activated. The device also detects wire break on inputs L1, L2 , L3.

2 Electrical Connection

2.1 Inputs L1, L2, L3

coming from motor (detection phases).

2.2 Supply Voltage

24VDC on A1, A2.

2.3 Safety Outputs

on terminals 23/24 and 33/34 (redundancy for required performance level).

2.4 Control terminals X1, X2, X3

X1-X2: Feedback from main contactor (NC contact) enables monitoring function. X2-X3: Must be jumpered to reset wire break fault automatically.

3 Adjustment of Device

3.1 Uan

Sets the threshold for recognizing motor standstill.

Find out the proper setting by watching the coasting motor (approximately set Uan to 10). The safety outputs must not close if the motor is still turning.

3.2 ts

Standstill time: If induced voltage is below threshold Uan, the safety outputs are closed after the standstill time ts (See also state diagram in description). Set ts to three seconds.

4 Status LEDs

4.1 DEVICE

Lights up green during operation.

Lights up red on internal device faults.

4.2 OUT

lights up xellow on EMF > Uan

flashes green when ts elapses

green steady light on enabling the output contacts

4.3 SF

flashes on faults in the measurement and feedback circuit and on insufficient auxiliary voltage Uh (see picture below)

5 Further Notes

Standstill monitoring only works properly if the STAR-contactor (-K026) of the coasting motor is closed, Otherwise wire break will be detected. Also the NET-contactor (-K025) must be open (NC contacts of contactor connected on control terminals X1-X2).
