The control unit is connected to Profinet.
The online access is normally from the line network to the PLC.
The PLC will forward data to the Profinet Network. IP Adresses from control units are within the regular IP range of the line network (10.XX.YY.60 – 10.XX.YY.100).
You can ping control units by IP-address.
There are different locations where data is available. Mainly there are two ways.
Data is remanent stored within ROM/CF-card. If CU320 is rebooting data will be loaded from ROM/CF-card to RAM.
With a "Load CPU / drive unit to PG" you can load the data from RAM to the programming device starter application.
To store this information permanently you can use "Save project" in order to save it to hard disk.
If you open Starter on the programming device data will be loaded from hard disk.
If you choose "download CPU / drive unit to target device" data will be loaded to RAM of CU320.
You can save this data remanent in CU320 with the command "Copy RAM to ROM" within ROM/CF-card.
