1 Overview[edit | edit source]
The Janitza UMG96RM is a Modbus Slave which communicates with the UMG509 (Master).
A dry contact on each Janitza is configured to be used as voltage minimum alarm.
2 Address Settings[edit | edit source]
Starting from the initial screen, press "arrow right" and "arrow up" simultaneously to enter the settings menu.
Press "arrow up" two times to jump to the address settings.
Adjust the addresses according to the drawings. In the picture below you see two Janitza with the device address 3 and 4.
If no addresses written in the drawings, set them according to PVSS. Check The Number in PVSS to be sure the number is right!
3 GridVis[edit | edit source]
Open the GridVis software and open the existing project from the server (_engineering/public/power meters/Janitza).
3.1 Setting Up the UMG96RM[edit | edit source]
Rightclick on the UMG96RM > Configure Connection.
Set the interface like this:
Connection Type: Ethernet Gateway (e.g. for devices over RS485) < this means, the UMG509 is our gateway
Host: 10.XX.YY.250 (this is the IP address of the UMG509)
Device address: # (Here we set the specific address for the UMG96RM on which we want to go online!!).
Leave the other settings as in the picture below:
By clicking on "Connection Test" you should get device specific information like this:
Now in GridVis doubleclick on the UMG96RM and open the Configuration. Select "Load from file" and load the parameterset for the UMG96RM. e.g. UMG96RM_600_5_400V.txt. Note - 600_5_400V in the filename means, this file is specified for 400V supply, and a current transformer of primary 600, secondary 5 A. Choose the proper file for your UMG96RM according the feeder.
3.2 UMG96RM-P[edit | edit source]
There is a profibus version, mainly used for upgradings. Connect with the delivered USB cable and setup the connection type to USB, choose the COM port as it gets assigned in the device manager on your notebook.
Transfer the provided config file (in the infobox on the top) and set the current transformer properly. The file has preset the necessary fieldbus config for communication. (including runtime counter for the communication bit). Make sure you use the correct lib in the PLC (libSEN_PmeUMG96RMP).
