1 Commissioning of Pyrometer[edit | edit source]
Manufacturer: Optris
Electronic Box: CT
Different sensors:
- Typ: LS LT (8-14 µm)
- Typ: LS LT Laser (8-14 µm)
- Typ: P7-SF-CB15H (7.9 µm)
These pyrometers are noncontact infrared temperature sensors which calculate the surface temperature based on the emitted infrared energy of objects.

1.1 Installation[edit | edit source]
- ChrTkr: Take Off Roll
- Mdo: Begin Preheating (only BOPP), End Preheating, Drawing (only BOPET)
- Win: Winder
1.2 Alignment[edit | edit source]
- approximately vertical to film
- laser point has to be in center of roll
- ChrTkr and Win: checking by Optris laser
-

1.3 Watercooling[edit | edit source]
- !!! Check watercooling before heat up !!! Otherwise the pyrometers can be damaged.
1.4 Purge air[edit | edit source]
- protection against contamination
- blowing purge air in front of the lens
- cleaned purge air must be used (not standard system air because of contamination by oil)
- cleaning air by a filter cascade
- manometer setting = 4 bar
- flow control: set flow to very small airflow (< 0,5 bar)

1.5 Electrical connection[edit | edit source]
for example in TMX 1857: without laser, 4 wires
for example in Working CASPP: with laser, 6 wires
- 24V
- analog interface 4 – 20 mA
- thermal protection switch
- Ethernet interface
for example: TMX 1857 - Mdo Bus overview
1.5.1 Analog interface[edit | edit source]
- 4 – 20 mA
1.5.2 Ethernet interface[edit | edit source]
- External Box for a RJ45-plug:
- CT Ethernet Adapter
- Set IP-Address
1.6 Configuration pyrometer[edit | edit source]
Used Software:
- Compact Connect V1.10.3
1.6.1 Configuration CT Ethernet Adapter[edit | edit source]
1 Execute CDSetup.exe
2 Install Compact Connect
3 Install Adapter Driver
4 Connect your PC direct to CT Ethernet Adapter
5 Open Web Server
There are two different types of CT-Ethernet-Adapter available. The old adapters were delievered with setting "DHCP", the new adapters will deliever with the fix IP Address: "10.0.0.10". If you have a newer one, there is a label with the standard IP-Address: 10.0.0.10. At the older one there is no label.
for the new CT-Ethernet Adapter:
5a Open WebServer by tipping Standard-IP-Address in Browser: 10.0.0.10
Continue with Step 6.
for the old CT-Ethernet Adapter:
5b
5b.I. Set an IP-Address.
The CT-Ethernet Adapter is set to "DHCP". So the adapter has currently no IP-Address.
There are two ways to set the IP Address:
- Connect the adapter to the firewall/service network. The adapter will get an IP-Address. Then continue with Step 5b.II.
- Use the "DHCP-Server" to give the CT-Ethernet-Adapter an IP-Address. You can download the software here: http://www.dhcpserver.de/cms/download/
Attention: Never use this software in a network, only in direct connection to CT-Ethernet-Adapter.
5b.II. Identify actual IP Address of CT Ethernet Adapter:
Digi RealPort Setup
5b.III. Open WebServer by tipping IP Address in Browser: e.g. 169.254.177.196
6 Change Network Settings:
- Mode: Static IP
- IP Address: e.g. 10.18.57.145
- Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
- Default Gateway: 10.18.57.71
- ...
=> Click "Apply"
7 Users: “Enable user login” must not be selected
If the user is activated, the default user from Optris is:
- User: root
- PW: dbps
8 Reboot device:
9 Connect your PC with machine network
10 Digi Real Port Setup: Refresh devices
11 Select Device CT Ethernet Adapter
12 Set Virtual Com Change Network Settings:
- Set IP Address 1 (e.g. 10.18.57.145 = MDO Preheating (TMX))
- Set Port
- Set COM
1.6.2 Establish Online Connection to Optris Pyrometer[edit | edit source]
1 Start CompactConnect
2 CompactConnect: Scan for devices
3 Select Device
4 If "No devices found!"
- Check selection "Scan non-USB devices" in Preferences -> Options
- Scan devices again
1.6.3 Load Config[edit | edit source]
- Stop measurement
- Push Setup
- Load Config
You can find the config files in "_engineering\public\sensors\Optris\".
The file "CT_Optris.cfg" is valid for all Optris pyrometers.
Attention: There is no software-feedback. To see the right settings after loading config file, please reload device setup.
1.6.4 Basic Settings - Setup[edit | edit source]
Please check the settings (Setup):
Signal processing
- Emissivity e = 0,95
- average time: 0,1 s
Output signals
- analog output: 4-20 mA
1.6.5 Additional Settings[edit | edit source]
Please check the settings (Setup):
1.7 Device Parameter[edit | edit source]
- MV5 = 4-20mA
- E = 0.95
- [ = 4mA
- ] = 20mA
- u = 0°C
- n = 200°C (depends on FacMul in PVSS)
- Keep XHEAD for ambient temperature compensation
1.8 PVSS Parameter[edit | edit source]
- FacMulCmd = 200 (=n) - should be preset already
- FacDivCmd = 27648
2 Commissioning checklist[edit | edit source]
Please fill in the Excel-Sheet "KOM-XXXX_checklist commissioning of pyrometer".
You can find the file in "engineering\public\documents\machine_data\templates". Please save the file in "engineering\public\documents\machine_data\".
3 Commissioning protocol[edit | edit source]
Please fill in this Excel-Sheet "KOM-XXXX_protocol commissioning of pyrometer".
You can find the file in "engineering\public\documents\machine_data\templates". Please save the file in "engineering\public\documents\machine_data\".
for example: a filled sheet from DAP1830
functionality check
To check the functionality of pyrometer, please have a look at the temperatures in PVSS in production. Please check the values for plausibility.
Write down the value shown in PVSS to the protocol.
In PVSS you can find the temperatures in Overview -> Temperature -> Film Temperature ...
To find additional informations for protocol have a look at Software CompactConnect -> Setup -> DeviceSetup:
BasicSettings: Emissivity (Epsilon):
AdvancedSettings: Headnumber/Serialnumber:
