1 Installation of ferrite rings in cabinets[edit | edit source]
For some big motors, ferrite rings must be installed – mainly for melt pumps or the coextruders.
You can easily see in the electrical schematic whether ferrite rings are required. If ferrite rings are required, they will be placed by the switchboard manufacturer in the corresponding switchboard.
Basically, the rings are only needed for large ELIN motors, but not for Siemens motors.
To install, strip the cable sheath and guide the individual wires through the ferrite rings.
Do not pass the PE (protective earth) wire through the rings.
