1 BMS Specific Settings[edit | edit source]

  • The deriative time of all controller with motor valves must be 0!
  • "Identification Heating", "Online Control Function" and "Monitoring sensor short circuit FAL" must not be selected for any zone. Except for MDO Controllers "Monitoring sensor short circuit FAL" is selected.
  • For the MDO Controllers
    • P41 (Monitoring sensor short curcuit FAL) ist selected
    • P50 (Automatic Temperature Ramp) is set to 2°C/min

2 Meaning of Parameters[edit | edit source]

XP Proportional band heating

P-proportion
XP = 500/Kp
Width of proportional band: 1%XP <-> ±5K

TD Derivative time heating D-proportion

TI

Reset time heating I-proportion

TN = 1/Ki
I Band is enabled only if the Temperature is within the P-Band
(e.g. Xp = 15% -> Temperature Band around the Setpoint is 33K)

TA

Scanning time of the controller in seconds Value=0 is equivalent to 500 ms.

Notice: The suffix -H characterises the PID-parameters for heating; -C accordingly for cooling.

3 Set-up of PID-controller Parameters[edit | edit source]

3.1 Use of Self-Optimization[edit | edit source]

Self-optimization during heating-up: IDEN = ON

Template:Notice bms

Controller parameters are calculated, which react to fast.

The Self optimization is useless for zones with control valve because the settings are always calculated with D-Part.

But for these zones, the D-Part must be set to 0!

3.2 Manual Optimization[edit | edit source]

1. Step: Set up scanning time

Determine the response time out of the step response, divide by 12 and enter for TA-H.

Notice: Exactly would be the delay time, that means the intersection of the tangent of the ascending slope with the output temperature.

2. Step: Set up XP, TD and TV

Depending on the characteristic of the step response implement the following action:

Attention: Changes of XP, TD and TI can in certain circumstances first be noticed after a change of the operating point (change of set point. environmental conditions)!

3.3 Cooling adaption[edit | edit source]

The cooling operating parameters are usually calculated upon completing identification (identification of heating parameters). But also an identification of the cooling parameters (XP-K,TD-K,TI-K and TA-K) independent of the heating parameters is possible.

According to the manual the cooling adaption of all zones is started, if:

  • parameter PAKF (cooling operating parameter fixed) is deactivated (PAKF=off)
  • the actual value is within a 3°C bandwidth surrounding the setpoint
  • the temperature increase does not exceed a certain value (3°C/min) (just wait a little)
  • a short zone-reset is executed (setpoint 0°C)
  • the setpoint is lowered by at least 30 Kelvin (setpoint-change –30K)

The cooling adaption is only executed when all these start criteria are fulfilled.

It is possible to observe the execution of the adaption online with WinKonVis.

Upon finishing the cooling adaption the cooling operating parameters (XP-K, TD-K, TI-K and TA-K) are saved power outage secure in EEPROM.
