SIWAREX CS (Compact Scale) is a versatile and flexible weighing module, which can be used wherever static scales are to be used in the ET 200S automation system or a force measurement is necessary.

1 Calculating the Weight[edit | edit source]

This are the nessesary informations which stands on the name plate.

Load cells are red marked in the following examples

2 Checkup[edit | edit source]

  • Go to the installed weight cell and count them
  • Write down the weight range and the characteristic value of the weight cell and calculate the weighting range which is explained above.
  • Take the cable for the connection between the Siwarex CS and the computer (also take a USB-to-Seriell adapter, if your computer doesn't have a seriell interface).
  • Check which COM-Port the seriell has. The software can only work with COM1 to COM4. If it is not in this range, change it.
  • Take a college who knows his weight

3 Hardware Connection[edit | edit source]

Connect the SIWATOOL serial cable to terminal module.

3.1 Setup the Load Cell Data[edit | edit source]

Template:Image

  • Open the Siwatool_CS.
  • Go to "Communication" => "Choose Interface" and select your COM
  • Click "ONLINE" to connect with the Siwarex CS, if everything is OK, the icon on the right corner change from Template:Image to Template:Image and you see in the messages some informations
  • Click "Weight" to see the current weight. If the Siwarex CS is first configured, you get a wrong value, but the display helps you to check the steps during the configuration
  • Open Adjustment parameter (DR3)--> Calibration
  • Set the "Adj.weight 1" to the wheight, which you calculated in point "Calculation the Weight". Set the weight according to the factor in PVSS! If the calculated weight is f.e. 75kg and the factor in PVSS is 0.01, set the weight to 7500. This is necessary for a higher resolution.

Template:Notice bms

  • Set the Characteristic value with RANGE equal or bigger than the value from Load cell name plate. For example, when the weight cell has 2,8mV/V, choose 4mV/V.
  • Click "Accept"!!!!

3.2 Set up the Scale Parameter[edit | edit source]

Template:Image

  • Click on the Scales parameter
  • Enter the "Scale Name". The name isn't used in the system, it only helps you to find the configuration local
  • Set the "Neg. zeroing range %" and "Pos. zeroing range %" both to 100, otherwise the Siwarex is unable to do zeroing.
  • Set "Decimal Point" to 0
  • Error message: Weight outside zero definition range: Ignore this
  • Adjust the weighing range according to the Maximum Force, which is calculated bevor
  • Click "Accept"!!!!

3.3 Scale Calibration[edit | edit source]

Template:Image

  • Click on the Theoret.Calib.
  • Set the Characteristic Value - "Loading Cell 1" to parameter, which stands on load cell name plate, e.g. "2.106 mV/V or chain lubrication".
  • Set the Zero point with value set on "Adj. weight 1".
  • Then click on the Calculate adj.Digits. --> Accept calculation.
  • Click "Accept"!!!!!
  • Click "Send" for Auto Scale adjustment.

  • Set the Characteristic value with RANGE equal or bigger than the value from Load cell name plate. For example, when the weight cell has 2,8mV/V, choose 4mV/V.

3.4 Set up the Scale Parameter[edit | edit source]

File:Scales Para WL260.PNG
  • Click on the Scales parameter
  • Enter the "Scale Name". The name isn't used in the system, it only helps you to find the configuration local
  • Set the "Neg. zeroing range %" and "Pos. zeroing range %" both to 100, otherwise the Siwarex is unable to do zeroing.
  • Set "Decimal Point" to 0
  • Error message: Weight outside zero definition range: Ignore this
  • Adjust the weighing range according to the Maximum Force, which is calculated bevor
  • Click "Accept"!!!!

3.5 Scale Calibration[edit | edit source]

File:TheoretCalib WL260.PNG
  • Click on the Theoret.Calib.
  • Set the Characteristic Value - "Loading Cell 1" to parameter, which stands on load cell name plate, e.g. "2.0643 mV/V or chain lubrication".
  • Set the Zero point with value set on "Adj. weight 1".
  • Then click on the Calculate adj.Digits. --> Accept calculation.
  • Click "Accept"!!!!!
  • Click "Send" for Auto Scale adjustment.

3.6 Zero Set[edit | edit source]

Template:Image

  • Click at Characteristic curve shift (15), after this the weight monitor should indicate 0,0kg
  • Click at DR26 save to Flash memory (2)

3.7 Final tests[edit | edit source]

  • Place a known weight on the load cell and check the correct function in the Siwarex Tool and in PVSS
  • The displayed value must be correct (check in PVSS)
  • After removing the test weight, the load cell must show 0,0kg again
  • When the configuration is OK, save it to Template:PathUncPublic\load_cells\Siwarex . Don’t forget to add it to the VSS Database
  • Plug out and plug in the respective Siwarex CS card to see whether all the adjusted parameters been stored (indicated by the weight display remain at 0,00 kg).

4 Troubleshooting[edit | edit source]

  • If the PVSS and Siwarex Tools doesn't show the right weight, check if you calculate the parameters right.
  • When you remove the weight, the load cell should go to 0,0kg, if this doesn't work check if there is a mechanical problem.
  • When the Siwarex CS card lost the configuration after removing it, you forgot to store the configuration to the Flash memory, reload your backup and store it again which is described in the "Zero Set" instructions.

5 Siwarex R[edit | edit source]

Template:Image
The Siwarex R 7MH4103-2AC01 is often used in the chain lubrication. The maximum load is 10kg and the Characteristic Value is 2mV/V. To configure the loadcell with Siwarex-Tools you must set:

Calibration => Adj.weight1 = 10000 /br
Calibration => Characteristic Value =  2mV/V
Scales Parameter => Decimal point = 3
Scales Parameter => 10000
Theoret.Calib. => 10000

The rest is the same like other load cells.
