Template:Infobox bms

1 Current procedure starting with Imc_21.05 eDrawings 01.04.03[edit | edit source]

Set the following parameters directly on the display

205 DHCP mode: Set to 0. (fixed IP address)
300..303 IP Address: Set to 10.XX.YY+1.250,
304..307 IP Subnet Mask: Set to 255.255.254.0
310..313 IP Gateway: Set to 10.XX.YY.71,
501 Homepage Password Mode: Set to 0 (access allowed without password)

Now you can reach the device using GridVis on the RmtStation.

Load the parametrization file found under _engineering\public\power_meters\Janitza\UMG604EP_400V_50Hz.txt to the Janitza device.

You might want to check if settings for NTP time server are okay.

2 OBSOLETE PROCEDURE[edit | edit source]

The following instructions are obsolete and kept only for historic reasons.

2.1 Brief Description[edit | edit source]

Note: This power meter is used for analysis via the TCP-IP interface only. It is not connected to the PLC via the profibus, because a UMG96S meter with profibus is also connected to the same power switch

2.2 Wiring[edit | edit source]

Check complete connection of the wire to the exploring coil (see also Public:Janitza UMG96S Powermeter)

2.3 Initial configuration with keypad[edit | edit source]

The following instruction is an example of how to change the value of a parameter using the keyboard. This information is required for the next section. For more information refer to the operating manual

Quick reference Instructions

The following parameters must be set on the local display after switching on the power:

205 DHCP mode: Set to 0. (fixed IP address)
300..303 IP Address: Set to 10.NN.NN.250, (NN.NN is the commission number)
304..307 IP Subnet Mask: Set to 255.255.255.0
310..313 IP Gateway: Set to 10.NN.NN.190, (NN.NN is the commission number)
501 Homepage Password Mode: Set to 2 (access allowed only with password)
502 Homepage Password: Set to.NNNN, (NNNN is the commission number)

2.4 Loading configuration files via FTP[edit | edit source]

  • Be sure that the following option is set in your internet explorer:
File:Janitza UMG604 IE FTP Setting.jpg
IE Setting - Enable FTP folder view

  • Connect to the ftp server of the power meter by entering the following address in the internet explorer (only possible from a station in the machine network!!
-> access via Service network not possible!):
ftp://admin:Janitza@10.NN.NN.250/ (NN.NN is the commission number)
  • The required files should have been configured for the commission and checked into VSS.
  • Check the VSS checkin comment to be sure.
  • Then use the internet explorer to copy them to the power meter file system as follows:
From Template:PathUncPublicpower_meters\Janitza\init.jas to ftp://10.NN.NN.250/sys/config/init.jas
From Template:PathUncPublicpower_meters\Janitza\prg1.jas to ftp://10.NN.NN.250/jasic/prg1.jas
Note: Contact Template:EEC-Support if you do not have the required configuration files.
These configuration files contain the IP address and current transformer ratios! Values are adjusted during software generation.

Change the view in internet explorer, to be able to copy!

If you need the username and PW:

  • Username:admin
  • PW: Janitza

  • Reboot the power meter by switching its power supply off and on again.

2.5 Final configuration check[edit | edit source]

  • Connect to the web server of the power meter by entering the following address in the internet explorer:
http://10.NN.NN.250/ (NN.NN is the commission number)
  • using the commission number NNNN for the password to get the following display:
File:Janitza UMG604 Webserver Startpage Screenshot.jpg
Webserver Startpage
  • Use the flags at the top right corner to select the desired display language.
  • On the page Configuration->Time/Timezone, check the set time which should now be synchronized to the IPC server using the NTP protocol.

Template:Notice bms

double-check the time at device-display

or browse Start -> Display:

the relevant time-settings at init.jas are:

_TIME_ZONE=18000         Offset to GMT (+5h = Pakistan) Note : (18000 = 60 * 60 * Timezone; in this case = +5)
_STIME=0                 No daylight saving time
_SDAY=25 daylight saving time period - see GridVis for description
_SHOUR=2
_SMON=3
_SMIN=0
_SDOW=0
_EDAY=25
_EHOUR=3
_EMON=10
_EMIN=0
_EDOW=0
_NTPSRV_IP="10.16.15.1"  ntp server
_MODE_NTP=2

remark: When using GridVis you need to set "Standard time" to 18000 and "Daylight Saving" to 18000

  • No further configuration settings should be required, if the files from step 2/ were configured properly. If it should be necessary to make any changes, the files should be copied from the power meter’s ftp server to your working directory and checked into VSS
to save init.jas:

  • The web server pages can be used by the customer at any time to monitor the data collected by the power meter. For more information on understanding the recorded events and transients, refer to the operating manual.
  • The Windows application GridVis from JANITZA can also be used to view the power meter data and also configure it. For detailed analysis of the power network, it is more powerful and easier to use that the web server interface.
  • Customers should be made aware that they should not modify the configuration because this would make it more difficult for us to help them with any power problem analysis! Therefore they should be instructed to view the information pages only and not change the configuration pages! Unfortunately, it is not possible to have extra password protection for the configuration pages on the web server.

2.6 Note[edit | edit source]

Please verify actual values if range is realistic, try once to go online with your pc.
