1 APC[edit | edit source]

Steps for replacing a damaged APC:

  • Replace the damaged APC
  • Adjust the every node address like on the old APC
  • Create compact flash card (if needed, otherwise take original one) and put it in
  • Reconnect all plugs
  • Reboot APC

2 ACOPOSmulti[edit | edit source]

There are just a few points which are needed to be done in order to exchange a defect inverter:

  • Turn main power switch off.
  • Turn control voltage off.
  • Wait 10 minutes until DC bus gets discharged
  • Confirm DC bus is discharged.
  • Make sure that all safety precautions are fulfilled:
    • Disconnect main supply!
    • Prevent reconnection!
    • Test for absence of voltages!
    • Ground and short circuits!
    • Cover or close off nearby live parts!
  • Take screws off, and loose the screw for the DC connection, remove inverter
  • Adjust node address at new inverter (like on the old one), mount new inverter with screws and tight the DC connection screw until it gets blocked (if it is too loose the connection is not proper and may lead to a damage of the inverter)
  • Power up main supply and control voltage
  • Restart APC

3 Motor[edit | edit source]

A linear motor is only damaged when the inverter is not able anymore to apply the nominal current. For sure, the motor can be exchanged if there is an obvious mechanical damage. But it is also possible, that a mechanical damaged motor runs for months without a problem. During the checkup it is strongly recommended to exchange a mechanical damaged motor if there is a spare motor. The motor is mechanically damaged if the metal cover is pierced and the housing is not oil proof anymore. Until now there was never an electrically damaged motor.

How to connect a motor, how to turn a motor and how to solder the wire is all described in the linked articles. But furthermore it is important that the screws of the motor are tightened with the correct torque and that no one pulls under any circumstances on the cables of the motor. The cables have no strain relief so the wires can be damaged and the motor is in that case not repairable.

4 Clips[edit | edit source]

For sure, the maintenance of the clips is mainly suspect of the mechanical side, but one point is really important for the electric. If there are any damages of the magnets, e.g. cracks, missing magnets or massive edge chippings, the whole magnet system needs to be replaced. Otherwise it is possible that during a clip collision parts of the magnets fell out, be squeezed in the air gap between motor and magnet system and destroy the cover of the linear motor.
