1 Promag 10W[edit | edit source]

1.1 Overview[edit | edit source]

  • The Promag 10 is a electromagnetic flowmeter. It is mostly installed at the pipes for water supplies (eg. Cooling Water, Chilled Water).
  • Please see Public:Energy_Measurement for general instructions for commissioning a flow meter. This article only describes points which are specific to the Promag device.

1.2 Commissioning[edit | edit source]

  • The Promag can be controlled and setup via the "+" "-" and "E" button. For first use of the menu, you have to unlock it by entering unlock code 0010.

  • Check if fields marked in blue are set correctly on the device. If not, set the parameters according to the values from the screenshot.

1.3 How to adjust the measuring range[edit | edit source]

  • Choose the new measuring range
    • The measuring range should be at least 20% larger than the expected flow.
    • The extended measuring range should not be identical to the standard measuring range of the next larger sensor (so that you can immediately see that the measuring range was intentionally extended here and not just by mistake that an incorrect measuring range was entered).

Choose a value for the new measuring range that is outside of the standard measuring ranges.
  • On the device navigate to Current Output -> Value 20mA (see menu structure above)
  • Enter the new value
  • Adjust Factor, Alarm Max/Min in WinCC.
    • Factor(*) = nominal value (e.g. 80)
    • Alarm Max = nominal value (e.g. 80)
    • Alarm Min = -1% of nominal value (e.g. -0.8)

1.4 Onlinesupport[edit | edit source]

Go to Endress&Hauser website (www.endress.com), go to menu services and select online serial number search. Enter serial number and you can identify your Promag flow device and its specific details, including download of instruction manuals and specific technical data.

2 Promag 10W (Touch Version)[edit | edit source]

The touch Version of the Promag 10 offers the same functions as the non-touch version, however it varies a bit in how its operating menu.

  • Screen Lock: Just follow the L-shaped line on the display
  • Write Protection: Unscrew the lid - take off the display - Set the dip-switch to "On" (Should be off by default)

2.1 Comissioning Menu[edit | edit source]

Access the comissioning via "Home" => "Guidance" => "Comissioning" Go through the menu and set the marked parameters from the following screenshot (feel free to set additional parameters)

2.

3. In order to change the Output we need to adjust the 20mA Signal

File:Promage 03.png

4. Look for this option

File:Promage 04.png

It is important to change the value in the 4...20mA Option

5. Afterwards adjust the Factor* to the same value you have set on the device for 20mA

File:WinCC Factor.png

Now the value on the device and in the WinCC should be the same (accounting for the PT1 of course)

6. During commissioning adjust the Utility Measuremetn Checklist.

2.3 Bluetooth Connection[edit | edit source]

In the App, the same settings can be done as at the Display.

For detailed information, refer to the manual page 50.

  • Install the E+H App “SmartBlue”
  • Login: User: admin; password: serial number of the device.
  • When you log in for the first time, a message is displayed advising you to change the password. -> do not change the password.
