1 Grounding Control Circuits[edit | edit source]

Control circuits must be grounded. Make sure that zero potential of 24V or N of 230V is connected to ground as shown in the electrical drawing.

Why is that important? If the zero potential is not connected to ground, the potential is floating. This will cause e.g. problems with the evaluation of I/O signals at the PLC.


2 Grounding Schema[edit | edit source]

  • Ground grid of foundation has to be welded on machine frames.
  • Neutral and ground cable have to be joined together in customers substation cabinet.
  • Star point of the main transformer has to be connected to the same ground with an appropriate diameter (see GoundingSchema).
  • Check and messure grounding together with customer specialist (signed grounding protocol necessary).
