The safety switch is enabling device with deadman-functionality. BMS uses it at auxiliary winder and in some cases at the winder.

1 Connection[edit | edit source]

Be sure that your connection looks like this. Especially pay attention that the second input is not redundant (see chapter below)

2 Commissioning[edit | edit source]

In order to fulfill the performance level "D" both contacts have to be used. Make sure that the properties of the input card in your hardwareconfiguration are not set to 1oo2-evaluation but to 1oo1-evaluation.

If this is not the case - or if the second input does not exist in your symbol-table (or in the sdf-file) doublecheck if the IPC-Patch Ipc_3.90_226_Safety_AuxWinder2 is built in correctly. Background of this patch is that the card was formerly set to 1oo2-evaluation which caused troubles if the pushbutton was pressed too slowly. Then the discrepancy time was exceeded which led to a "SF" on the input card.
