1.1 Motor Cables[edit | edit source]
- Connect Motor Cables at the EMC Rail and at the Motor Module
- Connect the Temperature Sensor shield seperate if the cable is inside the Power cable

Use shield sleeves delivered by Vacon
1.4 Encoder Cables[edit | edit source]
Connect the shield only at the EMC rail
Do not connect the shield at the EMC rail.
The metallized coated plug at the SMC module achieves the shield contact. This is to avoid a weakening / injury of the encoder cable.
1.5 Correct connection to the EMC rail[edit | edit source]
2 Motor side[edit | edit source]
2.1 Encoder Cables[edit | edit source]
There are some variable Speed Motors with 2-3 meter pre-manufactured servo-motor cable (e.g. Chill Roll drive, TDO Inlet Edge Guide, TDO Outlet drive)
These cables need to be connected inside a terminal box.
Make sure that EMC-cable glands suitable for braid-shielded cables are used for optimal EMC protection
e.g. in the Picture you see +KC1 for Chill Roll drive
