YM:PVSS Troubleshooting UI Start

1 No project is selected in the console

• Check if the project is already created in the console

open the Project Administation and check the list

• Check the server network (connect one time to the server)

2 Project cannot open

Check the log file. Located default: C:\home\pvss\3.9\log\PVSS00pmon_xxxxx-ee-yyyy.log

• Check the time difference between your PC and the server

(Its not depending on the time zone, only the GMT time should be correct minutes and secundes)

Check the time on a control room station (or open putty/telnet and enter date)

Adjust your PC time to the server time. The time difference must not be more than 30 sec!!

• Try to Change the UI number

Select the manager UI and press the UI manager properties and the number after -num xx (should between 50 - 59)

-num 52 -PROJ Nio -p vision/login.pnl -extend

Or look in the PVSS -> System managment -> Tab ???? -> Connections -> UI

• The license is normally for 20 UI and 10 Engineering-UI's.

If you don't need the Engineering-UI then remove in the console, for the parameter of the UI the "-extend"

4 Error reading the Projectlist

When you start the PVSS Console you get the message: "error while reading the project list. more information in the logfile" or "Fehler beim Lesen der Projektliste! Weitere Information in der Logdatei:...."

• Check in the Logfile which Project is causing the error (C:\home\pvss\3.9\log\PVSS_II.log)

Solution

Check the PVSS Console-Administration for the actual projects. Delete all non-used projects and also delete the wrong Project in the registry . You have to log in as root to be able to delete it!
