B&R provide complete solutions for the automation industry. The new Power Panel 500 series with Intel® Atom™ architecture advances into areas that were previously only handled by industrial PCs.
1 Commissioning[edit | edit source]
1.1 Prerequisites[edit | edit source]
- Connect a USB Keyboard
- Switch on the Touch Panel
- Wait until the device has finished booting. After booting up you only see a black screen with a cross cursor, press <Ctrl><Alt><F1>
- Login as user root, password <blank>toor
1.2 Edit hosts file[edit | edit source]
- open the hosts file with the vi editor:
vi /etc/hosts
- Press i on the keyboard to switch the editor to "Insert" mode
- Adopt the TouPnlSil.brueckner.de IP to you line
- in IPC 3.9 Template:KomIp2ZZ (ZZ= depends on the Touchpanel location, check the file: Template:PathUncKomconfig\config)
- in IPC 4.0 Template:KomIp5Z (Z= depends on the Touchpanel location, check the file: Template:PathUncKomconfig\config)

- Here is an example of the above mentioned config file containing two configured panels:
- Press Esc to quit the insert mode
- Type :wq on the keyboard and press Enter to save and close the file
1.3 Network interface configuration[edit | edit source]
- Open the network interface configuration file for editing:
vi /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
- Configure the touch panel IP address and the default gateway:
- IPADDR=Template:KomIp2ZZ
- GATEWAY=Template:KomIp.190 (for IPC 3.9)
- GATEWAY=Template:KomIp.71 (for IPC 4.0)
- Here is an example config file for line "1722":
- After editing the file, save and close it by typing :wq and pressing Enter
- In the linux shell, type reboot and press Enter to reboot the touch panel

- To initialize the panel, control script 1 PVSS00ctrl(1) needs to be restarted:

2 Troubleshooting[edit | edit source]
If the Touch panel still shows black screen with a cross after reboot, restart pvss process PVSS00ctrl(1)
