You will find the Software, if not installed yet, here on the Brückner Server \\brueckner.de\sonst\bms_ee_sw\SOFTWARE\Siemens_SIMATIC_Automation_Tool\
Since Me.Ro and other suppliers are already using Siemens TIA PLCs this Siemens Automation Tool allows us to search the network for compatible PLCs , create a backup and restore it in case of a PLC exchange.
The software should be installed on the FieldPG (CAE) - if not, it is recommended to install it.
In order to search and find the PLCs you must be in the same network. The search cannot succeed through PN-PN-couplers.
Me.Ro PLCs are "behind" a PN-PN-coupler, so connect the FieldPG on the me.ro-side of the coupler.
During the Backup the PLC might be forced to go into STOP mode.So a backup is only to be taken if the line is not in production and there is some time to stop the PLC.
Start Simatic Automation Tool Software.
Select your PG-Interface with the pulldown menu on top. If you get the error message "SIMATIC Automation Tool does not support this device", try to use the option Auto from the pulldown menu.
With the button "Scan Network >> Scan entire network" you should see the available PLCs (in Me.Ro case should be only one visible PLC, because we are behind the coupler).
Select the PLC and continue with the button "Backup selected devices".
To restore a backup to the PLC/HMI, select the tab "Restore from backup" and select the backup file
File:SAT TIA RestoreBackup.png
If you are asked that the PLC will be put to STOP mode, acknowledge.
A successful backup will be noted in the bottom window:
Storage Location for the backup files will be found under Options >> Settings >> Backup/Restore. You can also change this path if required.
Create a backup for all Mero PLCs, Heinzinger PLC and Heinzinger touchpanel and commit them to SVN under:
_enigineering\public\corona\mero _enigineering\public\pinning\heinzinger
Name each backup file uniquely e.g. StrPurCorGen001Top (or similar to your datapoint name).
When installing Simatic Automation Tool on site - don't forget to put it in EngineeringTools.xls. Remember to switch the PLC back to run after finishing the update.
