1 Overview[edit | edit source]
The IP-Rating is used to define levels of sealing effectiveness of electrical enclosures against intrusion from foreign bodies(tools, dirt) etc and moisture.
- First digit represents protection against ingress of solid objekts.
- Secendo digit represents protection against ingress of liquids.
For example IP55 stands for limited ingress of dust permitted and protection against low pressure jets of water from all directions.
Take care that all unused holes are sealed according to IP55.
